We spent the weekend in Sun Valley. It is hard to beat Sun Valley in the fall, when the leaves begin changing on the Aspens, the cool mornings warm to sunny days, and the summer crowds thin out. We hiked up to Proctor Mountain, one of our favorite hikes. (Notice that Hank's tongue is hanging out of his mouth in every photo from the hike? He, of course, went twice as far as Mike and I did...running up the trail and back to meet us, running down the gulch and back up to the trail. He slept for hours after we returned to the condo.) We also had dinner at the Pioneer while watching the Alabama/Georgia game. There is something very therapeutic about the Wood River Valley -- everything is a bit more relaxed up there. Unfortunately, this was our last week at the condo until next spring...maybe we'll get lucky and find a free winter weekend to head up there.

Sun Valley in the Fall

Are You Ready for Some Football?
Although the Boise State football technically kicked off a couple of weeks ago, the first home game was this past Saturday. BSU was lucky to get off to a 20-0 start in the first half because they didn't score any points in the second half -- but still beat Bowling Green 20-7. We found a choice spot for tailgating, but spent most of the pre-game warm-up doing chores around the house. When we finally arrived at the game, just 45 minutes before kick-off, there was a face painter set up right in front of Mike's van. She apparently picked the spot for the shady tree overhead and the "creative vibe" the van exudes. Although she offered free face painting in exchange for a 7-Up, we declined. We may regret that -- she kept convincing us that she was going to be wildly famous someday. Good luck, face painter. And good luck to the Broncos, who travel to Oregon this weekend for a tough game.
(And, since we're wishing luck to the Broncos, please pray for my Huskies...they are in for a long, long, unsuccessful season this year. It's about time for TW to hit the road...no?)
